Our methods of production
“petit chéri“ does not use meat and bone meal, slaughterhouse waste or by-products. Our dishes are free of gluten, wheat, corn, soy products and lactose. We don’t use artifcial antioxidants, binders, preservatives, colours and flavours. There is no sugar added.
Each recipe uses meat from one animal species only and gluten-free pseudo cereal. Dogs sensitive to food are confronted with only a few different ingredients. The recipes are naturally balanced and contain all the nutrients for your dog’s daily need. The only additive is the trace element zinc.
The organic meat is exclusively of French origin and free of growth hormones. The meat content, depending on the recipe, is about 50 %. We only use meat and heart. The heart is a muscle. It is low in fat and very high quality. Liver is used in a small quantity in the duck dish. Gluten-free pseudo-grains like millet, buckwheat and rice are only slightly included (8 %) in the recipes. Your little darling is thus supplied with quick available energy. We process fresh fruits and vegetables depending on season and style.
The meat is minced, vegetables and fruits are cut into small cubes. The dishes are cold bottled and gently cooked at relatively low temperatures. The temperature and the cooking time are matched to reach the best possible result to preserve vitamins, structure and minimum durability.
We use natural organic eggshell powder to meet the daily calcium needs of your dog. Calcium serves as a building block for bones and teeth and is important for the nervous system of your dog. Organic seaweed from Brittany delivers the essential trace element iodine – important for the thyroid hormones.
“petit chéri“ uses canola and olive oil, cod liver oil and spring water from the Hautes-Alpes in all recipes. Canola oil has a high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids and the favorable ratio (2 : 1) of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids. It has positive effects on skin, fur and joints of your dog and has anti-inflammatory properties. Olive oil is composed of 70 % monounsaturated fatty acids, mainly oleic acid, 10 % polyunsaturated fat and phytochemicals. Cod liver oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, iodine, phosphorus and especially high amounts of vitamins D and A. Your dog’s senses seeing, hearing and smelling only function optimally when the supply of vitamin A (retinol) is guaranteed.
